We didn't "get" the message from "GIANT" !!
Is it really "ALL HAT; and no cattle"?? The past few days has revealed what passes for "Leadership" in Texas. From "Trick" Perry, first to run before the MIKE to proclaim HE was in charge; to the "bug-eyed JUDGE" who abruptly ended yesterdays strange News Conference in Dallas (he had to go-to-meetin'); we have a right to be weak in the knees, when we realize this bunch is all we got to protect us from what landed in Texas from West Africa.
The Hard Right "rulers" of Texas; from Terrible Teddy Cruz, to the Congressional Leadership in the House of Representatives, spark "confidence" only in those of us who are most severely mentally challenged; I'm afraid. No one in that parade of Republican "leaders" that came before us since Mitch McConnell declared race war on any and all things Obama, in 2008, is worthy of a second thought by anyone with an I.Q. of 40 or above. Unfortunately, that may not include enough white voters to save us this time. As for the non-white voters, they are trained, or paid, to stay home in Off-Year Elections. Why do you think the Supreme Court went out of its way to make sure the Repoobs can get all the money they need -- without disclosing who pays them?? Where that may not work, the Repoobs are busy suppressing the vote among minorities, the young, and those who can't "prove" to these guardians at the gate thier "worthiness" to vote.
Why is tis moment different/ EBOLA! It can be easily stopped, as it was in Nigeria in the past few days: or rage freely in the United States, because white people are affraid to "go near" non-whites, without their "guns drawn". That approach won't work with a disease like Ebola.
Terrible Teddy Cruz offers his two-cents by attacking the FAA for letting the sick guy arrive in Texas. We need leaders who find and IMPLEMENT Solutions! Not those who cynically find,or distort information to spread further FEAR, Suspicion, and Hatred! Remember, white Census takers, for years, all over the nation, refuse to go near non-whites to get accurate information. The "count" for minorities are often "estimated". They are then used by sleazy politicians to acquieGerrymander their Districts!
EBOLA outbreaks can only be eradicated, by ALL of us getting "up close (enough), and personal" to effectively halt the spread of the disease. White "indifference"; "social distance"; "aversion"; or other techniques employed by Whites to hang on to this "color-defined identity" syndrome; has kept it alive for more than 2500 years (long before Jesus, and those who "trade" in his name). It is EXACTLY what may impede or prevent our success in this country to eradicate EBOLA. Think about it! Out-of-Control EBOLA, spreading among stupid people, driven by FEAR and racism.
